Interactive Outage Map
Presenting information about outages on a map of your service territory helps your customers, the media, elected officials and regulators to visualize both the challenges you face and your restoration progress. The Storm Center map detects when users are accessing the site on a mobile device and automatically displays a mobile-friendly layout using HTML5. Providing a mobile-friendly layout is especially important for resources like outage maps, as a mobile device may be your customers’ only way to access the internet during an outage.
Configurable Information Boxes
You choose the information you want to provide in information boxes for outage locations or areas and in the map’s summary tables. Share outage start times, number of customers affected, estimated restoration times, and outage causes – or pick the only the data that is most important to you. Storm Center also includes an alert banner you can use to provide more general information about storms, overall restoration efforts or scheduled site maintenance.
Outage Reporting and Status Tool
With our optional Outage Reporting and Status Tool, your customers can log in to view outage status information about their accounts or to report an outage at their home or business. If you also use our Notifi automated alerts system, you can also give customers the option to sign up for outage alerts by email, text message or voice message.
Additional Information Layers
Storm Center has a flexible structure that allows you to add a wide variety of optional layers, including weather radar, regional estimated restoration time updates, and distribution locations for dry ice and water. You can also choose to include links to informational pages, FAQs, or other related web pages.
Communicate with Local Government and Regulators
The optional Storm Manager module combines municipality information on the outage map with an administration tool that lets you manage information including estimated restoration times, infrastructure descriptions, and restoration schedules. You also have the option to set up password-protected maps with additional information such as crew locations. Providing local information to local government and regulatory agencies improves their awareness and understanding of your restoration efforts and contributes to essential community partnerships.
